You have 30 days from the date of your employment to enroll in coverage. After that you have to wait until the annual option/open enrollment period in October to add/change coverage that would become effective January 1st. The district pays employee health, dental & vision coverage but an enrollment form must be completed to start coverage. Employees are not automatically enrolled in coverage. The employee pays for life and family coverage of family members are enrolled. To make a mid-year change you must have a qualifying event and changes must be made within 30 days of qualifying event. Employees who do not enroll in the health coverage receive a monthly in-lieu of payment, if eligible. Certified employees in-lieu of benefit is $69.71 per month. The support employees in-lieu of benefit is $189.69 per month.
