Face-coverings Optional at DPS for Remainder of 2021 School Year and Summer

Due to the Governor’s cancellation of the COVID State of Emergency, widespread availability of vaccinations, and the extended absence of active COVID cases in DPS, face-coverings for students, staff, and visitors at DPS will be optional for the remainder of this school year and summer.  All other COVID precautions, including temperature checks and modified activities, will remain in place.  In the event of significant COVID resurgence, as indicated by our local health department, face coverings may be reimplemented.

Graduating seniors and athletes are strongly advised to continue wearing face-coverings at school to avoid risk of quarantine and missing playoffs and/or graduation. All COVID policies automatically expire June 30, 2021.

By grace,

Tom Deighan
Superintendent
Duncan Public Schools
