District-Wide Make-Up Day: Friday, April 3rd

Duncan Public Schools will be in school for a make-up day on Friday, April 3rd.

All inclement weather days were used during the January snow and ice storm, requiring one day to be made up to meet state attendance requirements.

We understand this adjustment may cause some inconvenience and appreciate the flexibility of our families and staff.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Snack time was extra sweet today for Mrs. Higgins class! We counted our way to 100, adding each yummy treat in groups of 10 to our snack bags.

Ms. Blevins 1st grade showed great teamwork today! We wrapped up our PLTW unit by designing and building a structure to protect students from UV rays while playing on a playground. These students did an amazing job discussing the problem, finding a solution and building the structure as a team. Way to go!

During Kindness Week, we proudly recognized Mrs. Carter for the positive impact she makes every single day. We are so grateful for all that you do—both the big moments and the small ones, the things we see and the many we don’t. Thank you for being a constant source of care, support, and kindness in our school.

Mrs. McPherson’s class wrapped up their PLTW Sun ☀️, Moon 🌙, and Stars ⭐️ unit this week! We learned all about UV rays and how to keep our bodies safe from the sun. 😎🧴 The BIG hit? The mystery beads that change color in UV light! 🌈 The kids were amazed watching science come to life right before their eyes.

Snow Day January 30th, 2026
No Virtual Learning

This isn’t how we hoped to finish the week, but safety has to come first. With temperatures expected to fall below freezing overnight and icy spots likely to return on neighborhood and school roads, Duncan Public Schools will be closed on Friday, January 30th.

Road conditions should improve later in the day, but the morning hours are expected to be difficult for buses, student drivers, and staff. We know this closing may cause challenges for families, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we make decisions with safety in mind.

We look forward to welcoming students and staff back on Monday, ready to start a new week together!
