What a great month for learning in Mrs. Blevins first grade! After working hard on animal research reports, students went to see their animals at the zoo. Students also tried dill pickles after growing their own dill and then graphed the results.

Today Mrs. Tarpley brought in another Ag in the Classroom activity for 5th Grade. We got our hands dirty, as Mrs. T taught us to make our own soil. We used our soil to plant our own companion crops.
Mrs. Smiley’s kindergarten class had a very special visitor today! Mrs. Arrington, a retired teacher, generously volunteers her time to read to the kindergarten classes at Horace Mann.
Students loved her show-and-tell stories from her time in Florida, along with a wonderful storytime session.
Fun fact: Mrs. Arrington was Mrs. Smiley’s 1st grade teacher! What a full-circle moment and a beautiful example of the lasting impact teachers have across generations.
