We want to remind all Duncan families to use safe practices today with the solar eclipse. The eclipse is predicted to begin at 12:24pm and end at 3:02pm with the peak at 1:43pm. These times are estimates and may vary by a few minutes in either direction. Please review the safety information below on the appropriate ways to view the eclipse safety.
Duncan Public Schools will be observing best practices with all of our campuses today. Duncan School district has purchased protective eye glasses for all students in the district.
If you have any questions about what your student will be doing during the eclipse or don’t want them to participate in any activity please contact your campus directly as early as possible.

Woodrow Wilson has had power restored to our facility. DPS has the expectation that Woodrow Wilson will be open tomorrow, March 12th.
We expect no further updates to be needed at this time.

All buses have left Woodrow Wilson campus. Students should be returning home soon.
When we have any updates on the status of tomorrow will be posted the same locations. Expectation is to be open tomorrow, but we will update parents this afternoon on that status.
If you need to make contact with Duncan Public Schools, Woodrow Wilson has no phones currently.
Please contact the Central Office if you need to contact Woodrow Wilson staff to alert if your student should ride the bus back home or if a parent or guardian will be picking them up.

If your student was put on a bus this morning please expect a phone call from a Woodrow staff member.
That phone call may come from a non DPS number. Please answer.
Students can either ride back home on the bus or be picked up. Parents need to let Woodrow Wilson staff know which option is best for their students.
The city has informed that there should be no expectation that Woodrow Wilson will have power today.

All students will have to return home today.

Woodrow Wilson - Alert
The Woodrow Wilson campus is currently working with Duncan Fire and the City of Duncan on an electrical issue.
Until this issue is resolved Woodrow can not be opened. We will communicate to the best of our ability on a timeline.
For now the cities initial estimate is multiple hours.

This summer, they have the chance to delve into various STEM fields while experiencing life on a college campus. We offer both commuter opportunities (students go home every evening) and residential opportunities (students stay overnight on the college campus).
