📚 Mark Twain 4th & 5th Graders Went on a “Book Tasting”!

Last week, our 4th and 5th graders at Mark Twain indulged in a wildly creative “Book Tasting,” where they dined over reading and shared their thoughts on the books they sampled.

Here’s the twist: students selected a random chapter to read, then recorded their reactions, including first impressions and whether they’d keep reading (and why or why not). This fun approach helped students explore stories they may not have chosen on their own, and many couldn’t wait to check out the books they “tasted” next.

To top it off, students dressed in their most elegant style for the occasion and enjoyed a snack for dessert.

A big shoutout to Mr. Hise for the creativity and care poured into this activity to encourage reading and commitment to the project. You make DPS proud!
