Our halls were full of holiday cheer today, and Principal Elroy led the fun as our very own “Elf on the Shelf!”
She magically appeared in a new spot between each class period, and students who found her earned extra lunchtime as a reward.
What a joyful way to bring smiles, laughter, and a little holiday magic to our campus! ❤️💚

🏟 FREE Admission
🥫 We will be hosting a Food Drive — please bring nonperishable items to support our community.
The energy at this event is always incredible. Let’s pack the stands, get loud, and create the rowdy, electric environment our athletes deserve.
Great cause. Great event.
It’s a great night to be a Duncan Demon.
In collaboration with the Duncan Police Department, we have been advised to release the Hold/Secure Status at Duncan High School, Duncan Middle School, Horace Mann Elementary, and Mark Twain Elementary.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this precautionary measure. Safety will always remain our top priority.
December 2nd, 2025

DHS, DMS, Mark Twain, and Horace Mann are currently in a Hold out of an abundance of caution. There is a situation occurring in a nearby neighborhood, and it does not involve any school at this time.
We are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Everyone is safe, and learning is continuing inside the classrooms.
We will share updates as soon as we have them.
Thank you for your patience and trust.

Our English IV students at DHS just wrapped up their reading of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with a creative final project!
Each student designed a Wanted Poster for Mr. Hyde, using details from the novella while adding their own artistic twist.
After selecting standout posters from each class, students voted on the top three winners. Congratulations to:
Ja’Mya Mangum-Hines
Aurore Davis
Dina Chin
We love seeing our students blend creativity with literature—great job, everyone! 📚✨

Over the break, our DHS SADD President had the privilege of delivering canned food items to families in our community — all made possible by the generosity of our students and staff.
Thank you to all who contributed and helped make a difference!

Throughout the school year, we’ll be sharing powerful stories submitted by DPS staff and community members about teachers who made a lasting difference in their lives.
These reflections highlight the moments, relationships, and everyday actions that shape who we are. Our teachers are mentors, encouragers, and life-changers — and their impact reaches far beyond the classroom.
We look forward to celebrating the educators who helped set the Duncan Standard and continue to guide the next generation with heart and purpose. ❤️📚
Stay tuned for more stories of gratitude and inspiration.

🌟Junior Industry Tours🌟
This week our DHS Juniors experienced a few of the industries and job opportunities in Duncan. These tours give our students a behind-the-scenes view of the career possibilities in our community.
DRH: Students saw the wide variety of careers available including those that save lives every day.
First Bank & CO: Students got a sneak peek into how banks keep our information and money safe. They offered an opportunity to learn more about each career path they offer through a fun and engaging game.
SENSIA: Students learned the important role that Sensia plays in the oil and gas industry by how they ensure each piece of equipment is safe to use.
Solitaire/CAVCO: Students saw the building process of manufactured homes.
What a fantastic learning experience for our students! Thank you to our sponsors and each of these organizations for taking the time to engage with our students. 🙌
