Adulting 101: Preparing Our Students for Life After High School
Yesterday, our Juniors and Seniors participated in Adulting 101 Day - a full day dedicated to building essential life skills and preparing for the future!
Students selected 4 workshops from a variety of topics including:
• Insurance
• Applying for jobs & professionalism
• Mental health & healthy relationships
• Checking and savings accounts
• Cooking on a healthy budget
• Surviving college
• Budgeting and loans
• Housing 101
• And more!
The other half of the day featured a hands-on budgeting activity in the gymnasium, where students navigated real-life decisions about homes, transportation, food, vacations, family care, banking, and other expenses.
This day was designed to help our students grow, enhance their life skills, expand their knowledge, and feel confident as they prepare for life after high school!
A huge thank you to our community volunteers and staff for their dedication to this project and our students! We know our students had a fun day and took away life lessons they will use in the future. They made meaningful connections and learned valuable skills that will serve them well beyond graduation.
We're proud to equip our Duncan Demons with the tools they need to succeed in whatever path they choose!
