🌟 Leadership in Action at Horace Mann 🌟
The Leadership Council at Horace Mann Elementary, led by Mrs. Alston, is helping students grow into confident leaders right before our eyes. This group of fourth- and fifth-grade students meets twice a month to strengthen their leadership skills and serve as a student voice in planning and implementing school initiatives and activities.
Through leadership development, community service, and hands-on experiences, council members are building confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and public speaking skills that will continue to grow as they move forward on their leadership journey.
We are proud of the students and educators across our district who are setting the Duncan Standard and preparing the leaders of tomorrow!

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of one of our students unexpectedly over the break. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with the student’s family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

The Structured Learning Class at Duncan High School spent the last week of school creating holiday wreaths and ornaments! We are so grateful to everyone who donated supplies to make this possible. We wish everyone a joyful and relaxing Christmas break!
Our 6th grade Honors ELA students in Mrs. Outhier’s classes have been busy combining research and creativity for a meaningful purpose. ✍️🎨
Students created research projects and artwork that will be shared with our neighbors at Chisholm Trail Assisted Living Center. This experience gave students the opportunity to learn, create, and connect with others in our community.

Duncan Public Schools is aware of a law enforcement investigation involving one of its employees. The employee has been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation. Administration contacted the parents of the students impacted directly.
Student safety is the school district’s highest priority, and the school district takes the allegations against the employee seriously. The school district will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement and will take further action as appropriate and in accordance with the law. Because this is an active criminal and employment matter, the school district is unable to share additional information at this time.
