🚍✨ 8th Grade Industry Tours – Exploring the Future! ✨🚍
Duncan Middle School 8th graders recently participated in their first annual Industry Tours, an exciting new initiative designed to spark curiosity and inspire students to start thinking about their future careers!
Students visited four incredible local businesses – First Bank & Trust, Sensia Global, Duncan Regional Hospital, and Solitaire Homes – where they got a firsthand look at what it’s like to work in a variety of industries right here in Duncan.
💼 Career Clusters Explored:
🔹 Finance – At First Bank & Trust, students learned about careers in banking, financial planning, customer service, and other financial services.
🔹 Health Science – Duncan Regional Hospital introduced students to opportunities in nursing, diagnostic imaging, emergency care, hospital operations, and more.
🔹 Manufacturing & Engineering – Sensia Global offered insight into careers in automation, instrumentation, electrical systems, engineering, and technical operations.
🔹 Architecture & Construction – At Solitaire Homes, students explored home building, interior design, carpentry, quality control, and other roles in the construction industry.
This tour is just one of the many ways we are helping students connect classroom learning with real-world opportunities and imagine what their futures could look like.
A huge thank you to First Bank & Trust, Sensia Global, Duncan Regional Hospital, and Solitaire Homes for generously opening your doors to our students and sharing your time and expertise.
👏 And a very special thank you to the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation for planning and organizing the day, hosting our students, and providing lunch!
